The vehicle is a 2 Door 1999 Sunfire GT Sport, Manual transmission. The Remote Starter is a "Prostart CT-3160M" for manual transmissions.

I am by-passing the clutch, theres one always cold wire and a hot wire when the key is in the "start" position. The remote starter has a wire for a "ground out" which it describes as "Negative output when running. (Pulsed or Constant) Used for clutch bypass or aux relay" I tested the wires on the clutch switch and the hot wire shows +12v when the key is on start.

How do I bypass the clutch if it requires a +12v postive, when all the remote starter offers is a negative ground.

Second problem, I had to bypass the Passlock I system with a module, and it has a wire that the instructions say to connect to "Ignition 3 wire from the remote starter" I do not know what the Ignition 3 wire is on the remote starter there are no similar labels on its wires. If the wire is put to ground it activates the bypass module and the car will run. Should I run this wire to the "Ground Out" on the remote starter I described above? Is it possible to put it to ground permentatly to leave the module on all the time? or will it burn out or something...

You need to reverse the polarity of the negative output when running wire with a SPDT relay:

  • 86 & 87 : fused 12 volt constant
  • 85: Negative output when running wire
  • 30 : to clutch wire
  • 87a : NOT USED

For the IGN 3 problem you can use the same wire as above ( ground out when running wire ). You do not want to ground this module permanently because you will have a hard code exchange everytime you remote start the car or even use the key to start the car. This will deteriorate the RF chip in the key and will cause it to malfunction over time.

is there a better name for this relay? something i could ask for at canadian tire?

Also, the car does not have power locks, does the remote starter still require wires reguarding the doors?

Ask for an automotive 5 pin relay. If you see the package make sure it DOES NOT say SPST. If it does, then you have the wrong one. You are looking for a relay that is SPDT. If the car doesn't have OEM power door locks, then you do not need to worry about this connection to the RS unit.
