Subject: compustar alarm won’t lock/unlock

I have a compustar 2W900FM-AS alarm, it used to work fine now it won't lock, unlock or engage.

When i hit unlock the lights flash 3x (nothing happens)
when i hit lock the lights flash 2x (nothing happens)

if i open the door and manually unlock them then hit lock they will lock! but if i close the door and do the same it won't work.

also the wire that goes to the hood pin is unplugged, i tried grounding it and not grounding it same results.

I dont have the display since it broke. just the 1-way remote.

Thanks!

bad actuators? Or bad connection to the actuators....

When you close the door your maybe crimping some wires at the hinge or something is grounding out when the door closes.

well, there are no wires going into the door. The doorlocks are in the center console.
Are the blinking lights an error code?

to have door locks you must have some actuator...and unless it is wireless...and I am unaware of wireless door actuators.. ..you have wires going to the door....these wires might be getting pinched when you close the door some place. There should be a wire that activates the unlock side and one that activates the lock side. At bare minimum you should have 2 wires that go to the locks in the door. If they work when the door is open it's probable that the door is pinching something...or your door triggers to your alarm are causing some problem.

Quick test to see if they are being pinched would be to sit in the car and close the door, do the locks work then or ONLY when the door is open?

ok, i unplugged the harness on the brain that goes to the hood switch and e-brake. Now it locks/unclocks and arms correctly. The wire to the e-brake seems fine. Is the wire goign to the the hood switch supposed to be grounded? i see 3 wires in my hood. Two for the siren ond one for the switch but the one for the switch is no connected. I tried grounding and not grounding it and neither works.

At least it's narrowed down that. WHat else can I try?
thanks
