Hello to all, I have recently bought a module that will control two power winows. I want the windows to roll up when the alarm is armed but I'm having trouble. The windows roll up when I turn off the ignition. I want them to roll up after I got off the car, left the windows down, closed the door and walked away; after a few seconds there is a chirp from teh alarm after this the doors lock. It is here that I would like the windows to roll up. I've seen others and on eBay but the only difference is in the color of wires. Mine has a pink wire for accessory and a orange wire for activation. I have visited the website from which I bought the controller and viewed their diagram but it is different because the two color wires that I have mentioned are yellow and yellow/black or yellow/white in their diagram. According to their diagram I have connected the orange wire from my controller, which is yellow on theirs,  to the starter interrupt relay and this causes the windows to roll up but when the ignition is shut off, after the car has been on. To what wire do I hook this to so that when the alarm is armed the windows roll up? I came across aother diagram that shows the exact color wires and on this one it says the orange is connected to the orange wire 500 ma ground when armed from the alarm controller and the pink goes to "otional devices using 500 ma. example; starter interrupt". Is this the correct way? Also was told that I'll need diodes? Will I? Any help or comments will be very much appreciated. By the way my vehicle is a 1980 Cadillac coupe. Thanks for reading

OK I got it to work by copying a diagram that I saw here on this site and it work fine; there was NO need for diodes or relays at all. So my next thing is; how or can I install an off/on switch to the module? Everytime I get in my car to get something I have to open the ignition, roll down the window partially, shut off ignition, close door then it arms again and windows go up. If I don't do this I'm worried that the controller can go out or the lift motors since the windows are already up when it rearms again. Especially if taking car to get serviced, I would like to use this feature there. I do have a off/on switch but it's a 2 prong; will I need a 3 prong? posted_imageOne for constant, the other to power module when flicked on and the other to supply ground; is this correct? Also, I have the constant wire off the controller connected to the constant wire for the alarm; is this OK or do I have to find an alternate constant power source? My uncle says it's better to a seperate source. Let me know guys. Thanksposted_image

the ignition rests on ground which is sending ur windows up probably

is your main power just tapped into your alarm meaning when ur motors draw current its getting pulled through a 18 awg wire? or did u run it to the source of 12volt? when i install window modules i like to run them to the battery, but sometimes go to the ignition constant. its hard to tell what ur trying to accomplish with the module you have it hooked to an alarm as well? ground when armed to go up?

I got the power to the controller off from the alarm. Meaning that what is powering the alarm constant at all times; this is where I hooked up the power to the controller. This is how I have it right now, but like I've said; an uncle of mine says it is better to run it to an alternate power source or directly to the battery. The power to the alarm is going to the ignition constant. Yes I do have it connected to the alarm; so once it is armed the windows roll up. Only two wires off the controller is spliced into the "ground when armed wire" which is the orange wire from the alarm. It does work. How did you hook up yours; the same or different? I've tried numerous ways and I came across a diagram here and figured I'll try that. Would you know on how to install a off/on switch to this like I've stated before?

my constant is ran straight to my 12v on my ignition harness, i had it hooked to ground when armed in the past but sometimes didnt want it to go up, i know u can press it to go down then arm and it wont go up, but i was annoyed by it so i hooked down to channel 2 on my 791 and up to channel 5 so that i can independantly control what i want it to do. your windows are going up when u turn off the car because you ground when armed is connected to the starter kill so once ur ignition is turned off the ground floats through the relay and the window module sees it then goes up . use a diode and isolate the orange from the starter kill and that should fix your problem. and ur uncle is right its better to have a independant source for power, in a way unless ur running a huge awg to a distro block or something.

Actually I do not need a diode or relay whatsoever and my windows goes up only after the alarm is armed. They DO NOT roll up when the ignition is shut off; it did but I took care of it. After ignition is off, take seatbelt off, remove keys, I get out of the car, leave the windows down, then there is "beep" from the alarm, after 10 seconds the doors lock and the windows go up or if I can just simply press the channel 1 and doors lock windows go up and vehicle is armed. What I did I took the ground when armed wire and cut it in half. Then the activation wire from the controller wired to the alarm side and the accessory wire from controller to the starter side. Know what I mean? Now, it'll be gr8 when I press the same channel 1 to deactivate the alarm the windows go down. My remote is a 4 channel, 1 which is to arm system, roll up windows,  2 pop trunk and continental kit, 3 and 4 not used but I do not have a channel 4 output from the controller of the alarm. Maybe I can roll them down using channel 3, what do you think?

on vipers i know there are a few programable channels that alow a pulse, latched, or something during armed or disarm does ur alarm have anything like that?i would say u can hook a relay to pulse the module but i think it would cause it to go down a lil only......actually u can make a realy that latches then resets with ignition maybe, if u dont have the programable channel because thats the easiest way
