My car is a 2002 Infiniti I35... same wiring as a 2002-2003 Nissan Maxima. I installed a Viper 160XV and I'm having some issues. The remote start part works perfectly, the the doors are having problems. When I hit unlock, all four doors will unlock. When I hit lock, the horn honks once, the the locks don't do anything. Also, it will act up other times. Sometimes, the doors will unlock when I turn the ignition off, and then lock right back so I can't open the door! Any tips on what's going on?

I don't know that much about alarms but there are a couple of little things in general that I think might have gone wrong, and is also a good way of locating problems - start by checking everything one after the other.
1. double check that you wired it correctly (even if you're sure you did it right), i'm guessing your car has factory power door locks, if so make sure you have found the right wires.
2. A quick test will consist of disconnecting your alarm from the power door locks control unit and using a multimeter test whether the alarm is providing any output pulse to the lock/unlock wires. (if you have a separate wire for drivers door priority, and you are using it measure that output too)
3. Make sure your car works without the alarm unit connected, thus use your old remote, disconnect the wires from the alarm system and test if it is working.
Check up with these tips. If you didn't have power door locks and you are also installing actuators though, then it is a little different picture and you are up to my pevous problem, when i was installing it.
Anyways another problem that might have rose is actually bigger: when you solder the wires and you forget to disconnect the battery or keep the soldering iron too long on the wire, you might damage some parts of the car control unit, as well as the alarm unit, or if you're lucky just a couple of fuses, which u can change
but anyways - these are just some thoughts - try the out and post result

if you are getting a horn honk then your lock wire maybe the factory arm wire instead and it is arming the car instead of locking it. I believe the door lock module is in the drivers door if you went in there.

you didn't hook it up to the factory arm wire, because the factory arm is autmatic which the car is locked . check and make sure you grabbed the right wires they are - trigger lock is ORANGE / black and unlock is ORANGE / blue at the driver door module. Meter these wires while turning the key in the driver door. Unlock requires a double pulse. good luck
