Talk about an old job coming back to bite you. I did this car when it was new in 1985, installed an Alpine SEC-8080. Customer brings the car in today and whenever the doors unlock either with the remote or the key, they will immediately lock again. Thought the alarm had gone into a passive arm mode, but after checking the manual I found out that this was done with internal dip switches. Tried gonig in and out of valet and resetting the alarm, no go.Finally I disconnected the alarm and it still does the same thing. Anybody got any ideas?

If these are aftermarket actuators and one or both controls the other, then one or both need to be physically adjusted. ------------- the12volt • Support the12volt.com

Does the driver's actuator control the passenger actuator? If so, try disconnecting the passenger side actuator. If the driver's door functions correctly after disconnecting the passenger actuator, I'd go into the passenger door and check/replace that actuator. If the driver's door still locks when you attempt to unlock it, I'd then go into the driver's door and check/replace that actuator. ------------- the12volt • Support the12volt.com
