I just installed a Directstart 324T in a 93 Cherokee and the quick stop mode did not work.  Everything else works perfectly but when i press the start button with the car running the lights turn on for two seconds then turn off and thats it. I turn the key off and it shuts off.  Any ideas or have you ever seen this?

What type of tach learning are you doing. Ive never installed that unit. The lights on most units flash for one sec or less. Hmm.

The manual says in order to enter quick stop mode, you simply press the start button for 2 secondsthe parking lights should flash once then stay on. they actually do not flash they turn on for 2 or three seconds and then shut off.

Here is the tach learning sequence if you were interested
1. Open the hood open
2. Start the vehicle manually using the key and let the engine reach a normal idle.
3. Press and hold the brake, then press and hold the button II for 4 seconds or until the park lights go off. Park lights should come back on to indicate proper Tach wire is connected.
4. Turn the ignition key off but DO NOT RELEASE THE BRAKE. Parking lights will flash 2 time fast then 2 time slowy.

Hey J, stupid question ( but had to ask ) did you have the Jeep running ( with the key in the cylinder ) while trying this and the hood closed ?

Yes, I was having trouble with my hoodpin earlier so I made sure I could remote start it to make sure the purple wire wasn't showing ground, but everything works fine. My only thought is that it is a faulty brain. I have never seen this.
