Not really clear about the door locking system in my ford explorer i know that it's either the 5 wire alt or the reverse polarity but im not sure what i should follow because one says to cut the lines and one shows not to.

You will need to cut the wires for a 5 wire setup, reference this diagram.

If your Ranger came with Factory Keyless it would be NEGATIVE Pulse.

If your Ranger came withOUT  Factory Keyless it would be 5 wire Reversal.

If your Alarm does NOT have built in Relays: You will need 2 SPDT Relays ( Single Pole Double Throw )

5 Wire Reversal using 2 SPDT Relays:
Find your LOCK & UNLOCK wires ( PINK / Yellow & PINK / Green ) Driver Kick Panel
Cut them in Half.
One side of cut wires will have 12 Volts when you Press the DRIVER Door Switch.  ( this will be called Switch Side )
One side of cut wires  will show Nothing ( this will be called Motor Side )

5 Wire Reversal:

Relay 1

LOCK:
PIN 87 =  12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 87a = Switch Side of cut Lock wire
PIN 30 =  Motor Side of Cut Lock wire
PIN 85 = Negative Lock Output from Alarm
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

Relay 2

UNLOCK:
PIN 87 =  12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 87a = Switch Side of Cut Unlock wire
PIN 30 =  Motor Side of Cut Unlock wire
PIN 85 = Negative UnLock Output from Alarm
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

If your Alarm has Onboard Relays, follow it's instructions
