I recently bought keyless entry from commando alarms. I am having problems with the door locks, when locking the wire reads at 1,000 ohms negative, and when unlocking the wire reads at 249 ohms negative. I found a similar diagram for a 96-00 dodge caravan, but i do not understand the diagram, where is the switch, and where i connect the unlock, and lock pulse. There are like 5 wires coming into the switch, i assume some of these are illumination wires. The lock wire is a light green color. Do i need to buy my own resistors to make this work. I have tried to contact commando alarms but have gotten no reply. ------------- Luke the camaro driver

Luke, in this car the lock and unlock wire is the same wire. It is the light green wire. It is controlled by a pulse to ground to lock and a pulse to ground through a resistor to control the unlock. So to make this work and test it, take a small length of wire and put a 2 amp fuse in it. Ground one end of this wire. Take the other side of this wire and touch it to the light green wire, this should cause the lock circuit to engage and lock the doors. Now take a 1500 ohm resistor and attach it to the end of the wire that you just used to lock the wire with. Now touch this wire with attached resistor to the light green wire and the doorlock should unlock. On your alarm brain, your outputs should be a - trigger. Take the resistor that you have and attach it to the unlock wire. Now tie the lock and unlock wires together and run it to the light green wire. Power up the alarm brain and test the system. Yes you need to buy the resistor as it is not included with the alarm itself. ------------- Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

I connected the resistors, and tied the lock and unlock wires together, and attached to the light green wires. When i went to test it throught the alarm brain neither the lock or unlock worked, but i could here the alarm brain trying. When testing outside the alarm using my voltmeter, the locks would lock and unlock. If i disconnected one side, either lock or unlock, it would lock both ways, but neither time would it unlock. When it comes to the alarm brain not wanting to lock or unlock, it makes me think i need diodes, but i cant explain why when going through the alarm brain, and taking out either the lock or unlock wire, why it locks the door everytime, but will not unlock.

buy a new multimeter. you need to get the resistance just right sometimes even just a few off and it wont work.
