I installed a Compustar Alarm, on a 2000 Civic back in August last year.  It has worked fine until last week. It started locking and arming by itself. 18 seconds after i turn the car off, it arms and locks.  If Anybody has an answer for this, I would appreciate it, Thanks.  I leave the keys in my car most of the time and I'm tired of getting locked out.

I forgot to add, that the arm and disarm works on the remote, but there is no chirp.

Check to see if the auto arm is programmed in and also check to see if the silent mode is on on the system. What model do you have of the alarm system ?

It's a  1WAM-A

How can I check  if the Auto arm is programmed in.  And if Silent mode is on.  I'm new to alarms. sorry for the ignorance.

BTW the Alarm has worked perfect for the last 10 months then just started this out of nowhere.

Flip the remote over. It tells you all this on the back.

Press Lock and Unlock together for 1/2 sec and it turns Silent Mode (Mute Mode) On and Off.

Press Unlock and Trunk together for 1/2 sec and it turns Passive Mode On and Off.

What is the point of having an alarm if you keep your keys in the car most of the time?

I was given a free alarm. i use it when I go to work or into town, But I live in the country and ain't real worried about it.

I've tried the buttons from the back of the remote. I'm just tryin to see if anybody has had this problem before.

Thanks for the help worm, any more suggestions.
