I bought an Impulse RES-R from ImplulseUSA.com and the picture shows a completely different starter then I received. In the picture there was a 4 button remote, and a different brain. Anyway I can handle it since it must be the same model that a lot of places sell. The thing I cannot figure out is how to remote start the unit. The manual is for a 4 button remote but mine only came with 2 buttons. the first button is for lock, the second is for unlock and both are for the trunk. I mean what other options are there. I tried pressingthe lock button three times and then holding it down etc. ANy Ideas?

The two button remotes you can hold down the two buttons for 3 seconds and the car starter will engage if you have all the wiring wired up properly. Button 1 lock/Unlocks, button 2 trunk release and both are remote start.

Ok here is the deal, I had two remote starters on my workbench and one was and older Commando EZ-2200 I ordered and it lloks just like the Impulse one I ordered. I got them mixed up and so I switched out the brains and now here is what I get: button 1 starts the unit, and button 2 locks and unlocks and hjolding them down pops the trunk. this is all fine, but I like the way you said it should work ,is there away to get them to work thgat weay. I doubt it, but it was just a thought.

Try programmin the remote so that the button 1 locks and ulocks the doors. Go through the remote programming sequence for the RES-R.
