Hey guys, I have a question. Today I was installing one of these, adding it to an existing alarm. The idea was to use one of the original alarms aux outputs to trigger it. However I could not get it to work, and durring troubleshooting found 12 volts coming from the remote start brain on the WHITE/ blue negative activation wire. I checked all my other wiring and everything was done correctly. In fact the remote start worked just fine, it just wouldn't be triggered by the alarm. I tried looking for a ground to be sent from the alarm brain on both outputs, and never saw one. Anyone have any ideas?

Are u saying that the aux channel is giving off a 12v? (b/c no way that WHITE/ blue wire from 561T giving off 12v) if so, it takes a neg pulse to activate remote start
Also, did u say that when you ground the WHITE/ blue (activation input) that remote start work? If not, check the neutral safety input (BLACK/ white) it should be grounded for remote start to work. Or your hood pin is seeing a ground, b/c it doesnt RS when it see ground.
Or, maybe that your not pressing the remote right to activate the aux channel because someone program each button individually.
Or your not holding down the aux button long enough b/c it takes 2 pulse to activate RS. (make sure your aux channel is on validity)
What is the existing alarm anyways?
Well, thats all the possible problems i have encountered and think of
1. Yes, it's giving off 12 volts since it goes away when I disconnect the plug from the remote start unit.
2. The remote start works just fine with the 561T's remote control. I just can't activate it with the existing alarm.
3. It's a two-way alarm which shows the aux outputs activating on the LCD screen.
4. It takes 2 pulses to activate it? I will have to check that out. I didn't try to hit that wire with a ground to see if it would activate it.
The existing alarm was an Audiovox APS596 which was kind of a messy install.

1. You are probably using the wrong wire and thinking its an aux channel because it shouldnt give off a 12v
2. i didnt even know there was a remote for the 561T, since its an RS add on
3. You maybe pressing the aux button correctly, but it seems wrong wire
4. On default, the 561T needs 2 pulse to RS. (in the menu under number 8)
Make sure you find the right aux wire from the alarm and connect to the WHITE/ blue wire and try it again.
I had the right wire. It was the dark blue wire in the plug with larger guage wires. I also tried the aux 4 GREEN/ black output as well. If it needs two pulses, then that would be the problem. Although the 12 volts on that wire does have me confused. It definitely is coming from the remote start unit because it goes away when I unplug it from the RS brain, even while it is still connected to the alarm.

If you know you have the right aux wire, good.
Now check to see if you are still getting a 12v from the WHITE/ blue wire of the 561T.
When it says 2pulse required, you just hold down your aux button for like 3sec
or you can just change it to one on the 561T brain
