Hello,
I bought a used, 96 Mustang GT fitted with an aftermarket Audiovox PRO-9344, but I don't think the alarm system is working properly. The red LED on the dash only comes on if i flick the valet swtich to "on" with the ignition turned to "on" and then the LED is on continuously which the manual says means it's in valet mode. Pressing the "lock" button on the Ford remote control twice does lock the doors and sound the horn once, but it doesn't make the LED light up which I think means the alarm is not activated? is it possible to use this alarm with the Ford remote or must I buy an Audiovox remote? The original Audiovox remote was broken by the previous owner, and not replaced. I tried programming the Ford remote with the alarm system by following the Audiovox instructions, but after initializing the alarm system for programming (by flicking the valet switch a few times) it does not seem to notice when I press any of the buttons on the remote - the horn does not sound, which is what the Audiovox instructions say should happen.
Is the alarm not working properly, or do I need a new, Audiovox transmitter?
All replies very much appreciated, I'm desperate as the car was broken into last week (they took my stereo and tire pump!) and Audiovox tech support were really unhelpful!
Thanks,
Richard
You must use an Audiovox remote. The Ford remote will not work. You should try and contact Audiovox or go to www.audiovox.com to see if they still offer a remote compatible with this old alarm.

Thanks for the reply!!! I have ordered a replacement remote that claims to work with this alarm.
The previous owner said she was told by a Ford dealership that the Ford remote would work with it. Sigh... :-(
