I am installing an alarm and would like to change the LED to a different style. The alarm LED output is 2.0 volts and the new LED is 3.7volts does  anybody know if this will work, I don't want to damage anything. I know you can Burn out an LED with to much voltage, but what about the other way. Will this hurt the alarm module.

it shouldnt, but if your worried you can always use a resistor
But i thought that leds are usually rated from a range, like 2-5ish volts
