I recently installed a Viper 560VX in my brother's Infiniti G20. I also installed the same alarm system in my Honda Odessey. Whenever my brother activates his alarm or RS, his remote control causes the alarm in my car to perform the same action. I am concerned that my car may be stolen once the person figures out the brand & model of the alarm in the car. How do I stop this from happening? Is this only happening with the Viper alarms?

It seems like your bro remote is program onto your car too. Delete all transmitter and relearn it.
No way some else can do this same trick to steal your car, becuase they would have to program thier own remote onto your car. So you should be safe. If your concerned, you can use a bitwriter to lock programming or hide away your valet switch real good.

I zapped the 560xv using a bitwriter to bring the system back to factory default. Then I tried to reprogram the remote. I received no response. I tried to read the brain of the alarm with the bitwriter. I was unable to do so. It appears that everything has been deleted from the brain of the alarm. what did I do wrong. Do I need to purchase a new alarm? if yes, what is the top brand on the market at this time?

make sure when programming new remotes that you hit button one on the remote transmitter more than one time.... i know the instructions used to say press it once, but i always found that they wouldnt learn unless i pressed it at least twice....

No need to buy a new alarm unless you need to. If your alarm still works then its still okay. Maybe you locked programming and that is why you cant program. Unlock it and try again. anyways, why do you have a bitwriter and why would you use that to program remotes? im pretty sure you should learn to use the alarm before getting a bitwriter.
