Hello,

I'm installing a Viper 350 HV alarm system into my 1992 Ford F-250 truck.  The truck is a 2 door extended cab, and I'm having trouble getting the power door locks to function properly.  I've wired up the locks with 2 relays as per the wiring diagram found here, and can get either:  Both doors to lock, but only the passenger side to unlock -OR- Both doors to unlock, but only the drivers side to unlock.  I've checked the wiring multiple times, and I'm pretty sure I've done it correctly...  WTF have I done wrong?  I'm an ASE Master/L1 tech and a Toyota Expert Tech, so you'd think I could handle this...

Any and all info is greatly appreciated!

Ryan

Ryan, you would have needed to 5 wire the system ( as you already know ). From the sounds of it you have a faulty relay, have you tried switching out both relays with new ones ?

Velocity Motors-

Just about the time you posted, I ran outside to try another realy- no love.

I did finally find out the problem though-  a Pink wire with an Orange stripe sure looks like a Pink wire with a Yellow stripe under a super bright white LED work light.  It seems I hooked the wrong wire into the system.  I re-routed things and all is well.  I'll button it all up in the morning when there's some better light outside.  (I've got about 25 quickie crimp connectors to remove and solder/ heat-shrink too)

Thanks for the help

Ryan

Good to hear that you figured it out on your own. BTW, what's witht he Ford ?? Thought Toyota would have a big enough vehicle for a tow vehicle ?? No ?

Also, do you have any pics of the 418 RWHP Supra ?? Would love to see that thing.

I've got tons of pics of the Supra...but they're all on my other computer, which, at the moment, is under re-construction.  We had a power outage the other night that screwed everything up...

No, Toyota doesn't currently offer a truck big enough to tow my stuff with.  The Tundra is a wonderful truck, but is only rated at 1/2 ton.  By the time I get the camper on it and the trailer behind it, I'd be WAY over the rating of the Tundra.  The Ford is much better suited to hauling stuff- especially with the diesel engine.  Hopefully, the new Tundra (due out in January) will have a 3/4 ton option, and maybe a diesel engine  a year or two later.  Then maybe I'll upgrade...

Thanks for the help-

Ryan
