take it to a shop, or a dealer and have em run a diagnostic on it, it may or may not be something you can/want to do yourself.GL

If the car doesn't start with the key sometimes, you will have to take a look at the PATS wires to ensure that there isn't corrosion from the flood and also bypassing the system isn't going to be easy because you need two keys in order to program any type of bypass module.

I'm sorry ...I was out of town for a couple of days...the ford dealer gays told me that the car was just fine, the way it works is like...if I take it to work in the morning and come back in the afternoon it's OK, but if i go to the store, turn it off and wanted to restart it, it just won't, seems like it takes 2 to 3 hrs before restarting again....

I sure hope the Ford dealer didn't charge you for attempting, but failing, to fix your problem.

You probably understand, though, that intermittent problems are the most difficult to find.

You're probably going to have to leave the car there for a few days, and let them keep trying to start it at various times, until the problem comes up again------once the problem is present, a good tech should be able to find and fix it.

Also, is there anything to suggest that the car has (or has had) a remote starter installed? Little antenna on the windshield? Non-factory looking modules and wires zip-tied under the dash? Little holes where LEDs and valet switches used to be?

try flipping the key in the cylinder. fords are very sketchy when it comes to the pats system. or you can take the chip out of the key, remove the senser from around the key cylinder and mount the chip in front of it. then you can buy a key that costs about $1.85. but you have to test to make sure that the chip is about 1/4inch away from the senser or it will not work.
