I was sound deadening the front doors in my car for a stereo install and managed to short out a wire with a  self tapping screw. I'm "guessing" it was for the power door locks, but not 100% sure. I found the short and taped it up, but now have the following problem:

FOB and switches in car will lock the doors, but neither will unlock them. I took out the SECU and took it apart and nothing appeard to be burnt, but I'm "assuming" it's the problem. Dome light, chime, etc... all work, just won't unlock the doors.

Is there an easy fix for this? Or is there any place to get a reasonably priced replacement? TIA for your help...Mike

ALTIMA
POWER LOCK       GRAY (TYPE B)       @ SMART ENTRANCE CONTROL
POWER UNLOCK       PURPLE (TYPE B)       @ SMART ENTRANCE CONTROL
It seems like you grounded a current carrying wire and possibly frying it. Because if it was a lock/unlock wire it would have been safe. (neg trigger wires)
What color is the wire anyways.

Wire was blue or red, might have had a stripe. Runs along the bottom of the door, inside of it and under the door handle. Unfortunately I covered the large holes with sheet metal and also have 3 layers of sound deadener, so not easy to get to now.

Do you think it could be a POS wire off the lock/unlock button on the driver's door? Is that wire POS? Wire didn't even have a burn mark where I pierced it, so I thought it was fine.

Any other ideas??

Any ideas on where to pick up a SECU for a decent price?
