Hello fellas, I have a 581xp remote start 2 way installed in my cherokee. Up until yesterday the unit worked flawlessly. The problem now is that the brain doesn't seem to recongnize the remote. I tried swapping antennas, different responder remotes, re-learning new remotes and still no luck. The remote was not exposed to shock or water it just stopped controlling the 581. I can manually pulse the brain to remote start the truck so I know the brain has power. Does anyone have any ideas what may have caused this?

I would hook up a new antenna wire and antenna and see what that does. maybe the wire is pinched.... make sure its a 4 wire antenna wire
im assuming all the new remotes wont program as well are you sure you are getting it into the learn mode?

it can only be one of three possible things... antenna, antenna cable or transmitter.... try replacing them in that order.... i suspect the antenna or cable.... also, just try unplugging the antenna cable for 10 mintes abd re-connecting it.... i had to do this half a dozen times with my old Clifford 3.5 Responder unit, but after re-synching it always worked fine again......
