look to see if there is a secuirty light in your dash, it turns off like 5sec after you turn on your car showing there is transponder. But i really doubt they but it on base model

I believe this would be the easiest plan, and the most accurate. -------------

Did they give you the window sticker for the car that lists all the features and price when you bought it? It would be listed on there.

dealers answer was "i dont think so" and no, theres no security light in the instrument cluster.

That means for a fact, you do not have transponder chip so no bypass needed.

i have worked on about 10 of these vehicles and i have never seen one without the transponder key i could be mistaken but i have worked on a few basic models and they had them too if it is a black plastic key with nissan on it should have a transponder key

since im wasting time trying to figure out if the truck has a transponder key or not. the dash has no security light on at start up or when turning it off. what could be the worse thing that could happen if i dont use a bypass kit for the rs. thanks.

I am pretty sure he is right.
But anyways, not using a bypass for a chipped key will cause the car to remote start then die immediately.
