I have been working on a 1994 BMW 320i installing an alarm.
The alarm has been installed successfully but now it is playing up.

My problem is the central locking. only the rear doors will lock and unlock now. Initially all four doors and the boot would lock/unlock.

The front doors cannot be moved manualy by using the interiour door tabs or the alarm remote. You can however lock/unlock with the key, which will acutate the lock. This will only effect the door you use the key on.
Both rear doors work in conjuction with each other regardless. There are no issues with the door motors or the wire harness leading to them.

I have tapped the factory yellow plug in the central door locking module on the passengers side behing the glove box

has anybody got any ideas what may be causing the front doors not to work?

Sounds like maybe the door lock mechanics is a little messed up... Remove the door panel an check it out make sure it's popped into its tab or whatever, that might hopefully fix the problem.

remove the wires from the yellow plug and see if things return to working normally. It sounds like there is an issue with the front doors deadlocking.

Which pin numbers did you connect to? 4&17 ?

they were connected to pins 3 and 13.
I managed to figure out the problem today after hunting through the whole car.
Turns out there was a faulty connection in the factory disribution block for the blue door control motor wires. Have replaced the loose conection and everything goes good now. and the whole time i was thinking it was something i had done posted_image
