Hello all. Ok heres the deal. I'm installing a remote starter in this 02 santa fe. I know for a fact I have all the wires correct on the ignition harness. I remote start the car and it will turn on and off 3 times. I cant firgure out what the problem is. I thought maybe their was a chip in the key but it states only in candain models. I thought what the hell I'll try it anyways put the key in the ignition and tried the remote start again thinking it will pick up the chip, but it just does the same thing turns on and then off 3 times. I pulled it all and than re-checked my wiring using the multimeter again and the same thing on and off 3 times. I'm so confussed on what the problem is. I even tried a different brain thinking it was that. If anyone has had problems with these 02 santa fe's or know of any other ideas please help me out here. THANKS!

Yes. The wiring is all correct. The unit is a Cool Start RS-1304DP it's a tachless remote start. I have noticed that when you lock and unlock with the cool start unit and not the factory remote and you open the door the factory alarm goes off. I'm assuming when you remote start the car, it isn't shutting down the factory alarm system, but on the diagrams it tells me so therefor I don't understand what I can do to prevent this. Any other options?

firs off the unit you are useing is not a compleat tachless model the RED / white wire in the main harness is a tach input, hook that up to the tach wire in the info above. on the factory alarm where did you tie in the lock and un lock wires? ------------- bring back the rotary phone so i dont have to press 1 to proceed in english

In order to turn the factory alarm off during remote start you have to hook up the key sense wire.
