Hi,
I recently got a viper 550hf from a friend and it didn't come with any remote . I have a remote that i wish to program it with but i can't seem to get the alarm to disarm
I'm attatching it to a 12power supply and from there it triggers the siren. i connect the yellow ignition wire to 12v and push the valet switch - according to the manual it should disarm but it does nothing . Am i doing it correct ? i have a hornet 725t that i tried disarming as above and it works . but the viper doesn't .
how else can i program the remote ?

there might be two ports in the alarm brain, a blue one and a read one. TRy plugging it in the red one and precede to disarm with key. usally is found in the older 550hf's. Door open. turn ignition. with in 15 seconds press valet switch then realease. Good Luck!...
I think that it is an older 550hf . it only has a blue port. it has no red port.
one thing i didn't see mentioned in the manual that you have on your post :do you have to open a door to disarm or you just open a door to trip the alarm and then disarm ?

yes open door while door is opened turn key in the ignition and press the valet button one time and realease the door has to be open the whole time. if this doesn't work you might have a bad unit. Make sure the alarm is connected to the right door trigger wire. You'll know you have the right wire , cause when you open the door the alarm will set off. Good Luck. test all wires.
P.S. some older units the Valet switch can be programmed for a certain amount of times any where from one to five times try it one , then two , then three and so and this might help.
