Hi,
I am looking into a new alarm system for my 1989 Nissan 240sx coupe. Since my car got stolen about a year ago and was stripped of my sound system and performance parts (i had a crappy alarm), I want to make a better alarm system. I was looking into audiovox prestige systems, specifically the APS997 and APS597 because of their extended range capabilities, because I could get them for under $150 (i am willing to spend about $200 on the system), and because of their upgradeability to the audiovox CL10 GPS tracking, however I cant seem to find anything about the CL10. My question was whether this GPS tracking device exists or not? If so, where can I get it? And, which system would work better as a security system: the APS597 or APS997? If anyone knows any better system for around my price range, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Not sure about the CL10, but the CL100 is the one way pager add on. It's called telmatics and you call a 1-800 number and can remotely control your car, no gps or 2 way functions. The Sat company mentioned doesn't have the website up anymore, but two people have installed systems in Feb and Apr of this year and have it working. Do a search on Telematics cl 100 pt 100 and look at some of the other forum posts. Some alarm places still have it for sale and it's also on ebay.

If you want a GPS system your going to pay an annual or monthly contract fee after you pay a lot just to get the system.
