I installed a black widow 750(keyless upgade alarm)on a 2006 dodge caravan and this was the first one where i added a proximity sensor. As this system has a builtin shock sensor and no external plug in ports for external sensors,i had to use the hood/trunk wire for the single stage proximity.
Sensor light would flash but unable to trigger alarm as probably requires a stronger ground.
What would be best to do in this case, use a relay for stronger ground and if so please explain?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I would first test and troubleshoot to verify that everything is working correctly, before adding the relay.

1. Disconnect the alarm's trunk/hood input, from the proximity sensor's output.

2. Connect your circuit tester to the output of the proximity sensor, and verify that it does indeed put out a ground when there is motion...........you might have the wrong wire, the sensitivity might be too low, the proximity sensor might be defective, etcetera.

3. Arm the Black Widow alarm, and use a jumper wire to apply ground to the trunk/hood input. This should cause the alarm to sound........but you want/need to verify that it's working right.

4. If both the alarm and sensor are working properly, a relay would be a good idea. If one of them is not working properly, troubleshoot from there.
