Alright Guys I want to install a R/S in a 04 mazda 6s hatch Manual- What i need help with is suggestions on the best R/S (alarm) is to use forr this application. I was thinking of the compustar 2wfm-as Also i would like to know the best way to wire up the car a sin a way to make it dummy proof incase the car is left in gear and cause it not to start. Im not sure if this car has a neutral safety switch but if it does wouldnt that be the easiest and best way. How does everyone hook the door locks up on this car ? What bypass module is needed on this car?? if using the compustar??? i know with the viper its 555u Any insight would be much appreciated?? Thanks everyone

Still need insight on the whole manual trans idea. What is the best way to hook it up so it wont start the car in gear. Does anyone know??? Thanks

Use a PKF3 for bypassing of the PATS and as far as themanual bypass, the Compustar's have a ready mode that will ensure that you can not start in gear once it's entered ready mode.

Whatever you do.....don't use a R/S, that is NOT designed for manual transmission.

Not sure about a neutral safety switch on 04, but I know for a fact there is one on 2006, 2.3L 5 spd manual trans. Is yours a 4cyl or 6cyl? To test for a neutral safety switch, get the car up to highway speed, put car in neutral, take foot OFF clutch, try to engage cruise. If cruise engages, the car has no neutral safety switch.

This test has always worked for me...just make sure you're ready to tap the brake very quickly, because if cruise does engage, your car will be trying to maintain speed in NEUTRAL. This tends to make the revs get up there pretty quickly. Once you have found out that the car has a neutral safety switch, it's just a matter of probing wires at the tranny until you find one that responds to gear changes. A Mazda 6 (2006) has a wire that shows gnd in neutral, and +12V in gear. Use a relay to reverse polarity and hook into (-) hood input.

Subaru's have the same polarity. I connect it to the brake input of the remote start, diode isolated from the real brake wire.
