I have a 2003 frontier 2.5ax diesel with a manual sunroof. this sunroof pops up from the back about 5inches. it is manually operated .sometimes i forget to close it . i have a viper 791xv and 2 530t window modules.
what can i do ,or what can i rig up to remind me to close it?

By manual you mean manual crank - thus no motor? Simplest solution: use a micro magnetic switch (DEI part 8600) wired to one of the inputs of the security system like the hood pin for example. If sunroof is open while the system is armed, the 791 will give a chirp and it will show on the remote.

I vote for the mercury switch, it is a very great idea, you can activate the LED only wen the ignition is off.  In this case you will never see the Led blinking during the vehicle run.

put the negative wire to the ignition, the positive to the mercury switch, the other mercury side, you put a fuse on and connect to the 12v.  realy easy to do.

you can also, use the mercury switch, and put a GND on the arlam with it, so when the roof is open, you will be advertise when you will activeted the alarm.

I suggested a magnetic switch instead of mercury because it isn't affected by inclines. With a mercury either it could show open when it's not and vice versa depending if you're uphill one time and downhill the next.
