Hello,

I am about to install a Crime Stopper 2016fm on this vehicle. Like always I always ask you guys for any info that will make my install easier. The wiring info seems straight forward from the previous post I have read except the keysense wire that is required to be hooked up to have the steering wheel move up/down when the key is inserted and removed. As always any advice/feedback is much appreciated. Here are my questions:

  • Where is the keysense wire?
  • What color is the keysense wire?
  • Do you hook-up the the bypass to the keysense wire or do you hook-up the status wire from the alarm to the keysense wire?
  •  What type of by-pass is required for this vehicle?

I forgot to ask another question. How do you wire the after market alarm to just trigger the factory alarm. I am thinking if I do this it will save me the time instaling the after market trigger wires.

The keysense will be in the green 6 pin plug attached to the lower side of the ignition cylinder. Not sure what color it is, but you can test one of the 6 wires there.
You must use a universal key required type bypass module for this vehicle. If you want you can hook up the (-) OEM ALARM DISARM wire from the alarm/RS system in but make sure that the keysense is infact a (-) trigger first before you do this.

For your second post, your going to have to wire in all your trigger points from the car to the aftermarket alarm system regardless because the aftermarket system needs the triggers in order for it to know what trigger set off the alarm system. Hooking up the OEM One is redundant and not necessary IMO.

The keysence is blue/white in the Ign. harness, and it's NEG(-) You can try triggering this with the ground while running from the unit. If this does not work you will need to disarm/unlock, to R/S, then re-lock/arm. The factory arm/disarm operates WITH the locks.
