My old boss just called me with a question from one of his installers where he works now. Apparently they are doing a remote start in a 99 Pathfinder, the installer hooked up the tach wire to what he found on directechs, and now the pathfinder will not start with the key or remote start. It cranks but acts like there is no juice. I'm wondering if he pulled too hard on the wire while stripping the insulation off and pulled out a connection at the ignition coil. They are checking into that right now, but I'm wondering if anyone else has any clues?

I agree, I'm not a big fan of this installer, a lot of his installs end up coming to my bay for me to fix. I'm just trying to save my old boss a headache because he's a good guy.

Looks like they ended up having it hauled off to the dealer behind a tow truck. Doesn't sound like he tried very hard to figure it out. Oh well, not my problem.
