I just put a deck in a 99 Eldorado, and the customer called back saying that his factory keyless entry had stopped working. I have heard that on some Hondas when the factory deck is removed, the keyless won't work, but I had never heard of this with a GM before. If anyone has any info or advice I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks.

What type of harness adapter did you use....or did you "hard wire it" ?

i think i have installed a radio or 2 into a 99 eldorado but i haven't ever seen that happen before. did the vehicle have OnStar equipment in it? i think that vehicle needs a GMRC03 which is a RAP or retention harness i believe. if you tried using a standard  70-1858 or 70-2003 then that is more than likely the problem. i don't think that vehicle is very difficult to take apart so you could try pluggin the  OEM radio back up and see if the keyless starts working again. if it does then you will know 100% that the retention harness is necessary. good luck and hope that helps.
