Hello, folks,

I just had a Clifford RSX3.5 remote start / security system installed on my 2001 Ford F150 Lightning. Great setup, and the installer (Beyond Street Performance in San Francisco) did a fantastic job.

Questions: (a) What is the estimated range of the two-way transmitter? The system antenna is currently mounted at the bottom of the windshield, above the dashboard; and (b) How much of a decrease in range would I observe by having the antenna relocated under the dashboard, behind the instrument panel?

I can live with the visible antenna if I absolutely have to, but I would much rather have it hidden out of sight.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Antenna should be mounted as high as possible center of windshield.Range 1/8 to 1/4 mile dependent on conditions, this a great alarm and range is always exceptional.

I appreciate the reply.

I would still like to find out how detrimental it would be to the signal range of the unit if I mounted the antenna underneath the dashboard, behind the instrument panel, out of sight (not on the windshield).

Thanks again!

I have done it several times re customer request,i mount it on aplastic panel ect a plastic air duct behind the instument panel,i have recieved no complaints so far ,i also turn off code hopping it tends to give more range.
