what is the range on the DEI XHF plus antenna? I just got two of them and they seem to be pretty good. it also has a SAW filter- what does that do?

Those antennas are used mainly on clifford alarms.What does the saw filter look likeposted_image

it looks like just a regular antenna. it looks like the hf plus nothing special.

A saw filter is a specific type of RF bandpass filter...... it doesn't look like anything special. It won't have Husquavarna painted on it or anything...... maybe 3 more components on the PCB of the antenna.

ok so what is the range that im looking at to be? will it work through buildings that have a problem with the range of the hx antenna?

range will run about 1500 ft consistently.... will be better at building penetration than an HF Plus by far..... but still drop off when going through walls like any other unit would....

this is an old antenna... i would opt for the XR Plus... which should give you better range and stability....

dont get wrapped up in distance ratings.....i've seen "1000 ft range" antennas do twice that and i've also seen "2000 ft range" antennas do half that.....

i already have this antenna the guy i bought it from said xr plus was not as good as xhf plus. so im stuck now. but it seems to be pretty good.
