I'm installing a Crimestopper CS-2014 alarm on my '91 Acura Legend. This is my first time installing and using a remote start and alarm system on a vehicle. My first issue is that when I remote start the engine, then switch the key to On, the dash lights blink randomly fast (coming to mind, I had my courtesy light switch adjuster disconnected while testing, I'll try connecting it tomorrow but I doubt that's it).

I'm having an extremely hard time finding the trunk release wire under the dash, I can't easily pass a wire through the door directly to the trunk release switch. Does anyone know where I can easily access it and if I need a relay to make this work?!?!

When the system is armed, I have to press the disarm button TWICE to unlock the doors, is this normal? is it possible to make it just unlock the driver's door?

Also, when I remote start the engine, I can't shut it off when I press the "Start Engine" button again. Even when I switch the key to On, then Off, it doesn't shut off. Is there another way besides depressing the brake pedal?

Thanks a lot for any replies! I continuously re-read the manuals, but hopefully different wording might help me understand the answers to my questions.

91 Acura Legend

TRUNK RELEASE       WHITE/ BLACK (+)       IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL, HARNESS TO REAR OF VEHICLE

Yes you must use a relay for trunk release
Relay setup
85- output wire of the alarm
86 & 87- 12v
30- wire in the car

Not sure about why you need to press unlock twice, could be how the alarm works?

Dont think you can unlock once and have only the driverside work, usually a feature of the car itself.

Not sure if your alarm has a hood pin, but that turns it off. Or if you have a neautral safety switch, you can turn on and off the ability to remote start.
