Hey guys,
I'm trying to tap into the aux 1 output of my CompuStar 2WSS-A alarm. I want to energize a relay coil, to close the relay to turn on my underbody neon.

On the alarm brain, the aux 1 wire is labeled on the back as a - (neg) 250ma output.
I hooked a multimeter's negative lead to the alarm aux 1 wire, and hooked the multimeter positive lead to the + battery.

The multimeter only reads 12v momentarily when I press the aux 1 button on the remote. I thought that pressing the button would cause the negative aux 1 output to stay at -12v. Its just momentary.

Does this sound right, or am I doing something wrong? It seems I may need to build a latching relay. Does anyone have this alarm, and can confirm that I am on the right track?

Thanks if you can help,
Jason

yes you are doing it correctly, but in the program instructions you can change the pulsed output to a constant and/or reset w/ignition

85+87 to 12volts

30 out to trigger

86 to compustar (-)output

Compustar will not send me an install manual because I'm not a dealer. And I hate to go back to my installer because they scratch one of my panels every time they touch my car.

Anyways, I found a manual on this website for the 2000AS. It has a programmable option for changing the pulsed aux outputs to latched outputs.

Can someone confirm if these steps will work for the 2WSS-A alarm? Or, does anyone know how to change this? Can it be done with the 2WSS-A?
