i am trying to make my turn signals flash using diodes, i am wiring them up from anode to Kathode but they just seem to be blowing straight away and letting the current flow both ways. When i use my indicators they all turn on because of this. i am using this diode. 1N4148 what other diode should i get?

i have the matrix rsx3.5 and want to connect my parking lights, but i dont want the parking lights to flash, i want the turn signals. But when i connect them straight up they flash, but when i put my turn indicator on, all the indicators on the car flash.

I think you need a diode that can handle a little more amperage then 400mA. Be brave, use transistors....
Seriously I don't have any part numbers here or I would give you one that would work.... Hopefully someone else can help out with that... ------------- I may be lost but I am making good time.

First off, you need to use a 6A diode or relays when isolating lights. Second off, wouldn't it be easier just to tag the hazard light switch?

its a vauxhall calibra 1997 in the UK. This is from the hazard light switch, it has 2 outputs from it, left and right.

use relays to isolate them. i've seen diodes have problems with isolation in certain applications. relays never fail.
