I have a 1999 Honda Accord 4 door , I'm installing a (KE-30) Commando Keyless Entry. Is there a brand or type of door lock actuators someone can recommend, I bought some Universal door locks off e-bay six months ago Freeway is the brand name .both drivers and passenger side Actuators have froze up., on my truck, I though I ask the pros this time. Thanks Mark

DEI part number 524N. Make sure the install is straight as possible and doesn't bind at all.

I have been using a generic actuator (2 wire & looks exactly the same as dei or spal) for several years now.
I installed them for customers and none has called back or complained.
I second wat auex has to say, make sure you are installing it straight so less work on the actuator and not to damage it.
I really dont think brand matters, because i took one apart and i didnt see any difference. Im pretty sure there is one manufacturer of the item and they send it to different company to stamp as thier own.

I fully agree with captainzab. I get all my actuators from partsexpress.com for dirt cheap. If you buy more than 10 at a time they are like 4 bucks a peice or somthin like that. They come with all mounting hardware and screws needed. But they don't come with a piece of rubber door boot like other companies include with theirs.

I have replaced plenty of the "cheep" actuators...(4 bucks is cheap) when I worked at a shop in Tacoma that was a big "get it as cheap as poss. and hold high gross" Then pay me to replace the POS.....there goes your gross. The spal is 9 bucks.

I've never had any comebacks with them. I have a pair on my own Cutlass since 1999 now and no problems at all.

I use the omega ds 2.2 actuators. They are very high quality and never had a comeback. A step up from the cheapest, worth the extra penny.

I've used the partsexpress $4 actuators with great success. So far 4 of them have survived 4 years of high use in a Caravan.
