I have an 03 dodge Ram w/ the 791XV alarm installed. Well I destroyed my LCD remote and bought another one. I was able to get it sorta working again. However, now when I activate my alarm the doors will not lock. When I try the remote start I get nothing as well. When I turn off the alarm the doors will unlock. My windows will roll up as well when I activate the alarm like usual. I'm confused any help would be greatly appriecated. Thanks,

uniball

you may have to go into programming and select tranmitter "0"... this will program the same features you had before to ALL remotes....  just an idea

Also, there is a toggle safety switch for the remote starter, which may or may not have been installed............ if you were under the dash to program the new remote, you might have flipped the control switch to "off" and forgotten about it. If the switch is off, the remote start will not work.

Chris you are the man. I found the switch in the OFF position. It's amazing how good it works when it's turned on. I didn't even know there was a switch for that the installer never told me about that one just the valet switch. However, my doors will still not lock when the alarm is turned on. They will unlock though when the alarm is shut off. Thanks,

Just an idea, but I know that some vehicles require a "double pulse" for the door locks. I don't know off the top of my head if a Dodge Ram does or not, but it could be possible that in the transition between remotes, somehow the programming of the alarm itself was messed up, and it may not be programmed to "double pulse" (if the vehicle needs it) if this is the case, this will cause the locks to not function correctly/at all.
