What do you guys think. Are these things easier than it seems to install? I was looking at a good viper or clifford alarm system. Really like the 1 mile range on the clifford.

Viper is the EXACT same as Clifford, just diffent color remote. (unless its the original Clifford b4 DEI)I perfer the Black Python remote over both of those, the carbon fiber on clifford really doesnt look nice in my taste.

I say DIY if you just want basic alarm with remote start and the least amount of wiring possible.
12v, ground, lock/unlock, and remote start wires.

If you want door trigger, trunk release, domelight, hood/trunk trigger, go to store. (some store will require that you tell them to hook up these sensors, if not afterwards they be like "you should have told me." even though thats the point of the LCD screen. pretty stupid of these installers. )

yaris

Looks easy enough.

There is no difference in range when comparing the range of Viper and Clifford, dont know where you would get that idea.

Mile range you talking about is on the SST systems. (not the 791, its 5900 for viper)

Read some tutorials on how to do alarm install. Search forum or google it.

If you have a 5-speed, go with a Compustar. Find a local dealer and have it professionally installed. Viper, Python, and Clifford stuff can not work safely with a 5-speed.

I get my clifford and viper for the same price. Never knew Clifford cost more.

But i second what Jworm has to say about Compustar. Safest way to go.
