Sit in the car and try it. See if there is a security light flashing possible a pic of a key flashing. Or put your key in the ignition, don't turn it forward, try and remote start it. If it starts with the key in the igntion the security bypass is not working for the remote start. let us know what happens. -------------

maxin,
There really isn't a "factory" Ford remote starter. If the remotes have the Ford label on them, it's just an ordinary Code-Alarm aftermarket remote starter, with Ford stickers on the remotes, sold through the Ford dealer's parts department, with a Ford part number on the package.
Anyway though, there's nothing wrong with that....it's still a good unit as long as it's installed properly.
So you just bought the car used? How many keys did you get with the car? Do the keys have the original Ford logo on them, or are they some aftermarket brand of key?
Do as xtremej says-----try to remote start the car, and observe the small red light on the dash.
It is supposed to come on steady, and then go out........if it is flashing rapidly, the car is not "seeing" a proper ignition key, so the Ford PATS anti-theft system is keeping the starter from engaging.
I believe on the Focus, the red light in question is above the radio, near the hazard switch.
For reference, you might also start the car with the key, while watching the light, so you will understand how it is supposed to operate normally.
Anyway, if that is the problem, it might be that the remote starter's anti-theft bypass has a problem..............or, it is also possible that someone made new keys for the car, which would cause the other part to lose programming..........if you have TWO keys, we can help you try to re-program it.

Thankyou guys, one more Thing: this unit seems to have
a kill starter relay, I dont know if this is preventing
the starter to crank.

Find the starter wire (grey/black) remove it from the relay, and reconnect it....try and start it.

Hi I installed a RS-725 LCD Autopage Alarm 2way system on a 2006 Ram 1500 Hemi. When I try to remote start the system activates but when it tries to start you just here a clicking sound like the car battery is dead. The system is activated, the blower is on and averything but the starter never turns over. But if you start the truck with the key then activate the remote start , when you turn off the key the truck keeps running. I also can't seem to get the lights to flash when using the alarm. Can anyone help me with this. Thanks

Start your own post.... Sounds like you do not have the ignition imobilizer bypassed properly. -------------

What Do I need to do? If I start the truck with the key and remote start the truck and remove the key it will continue to run. What am I doing wrong?

maxin2,
If there was a starter kill relay installed, and it was faulty, you wouldn't be able to start the car with the key either.
Please answer our other questions, and we will help from there.

I did not install any by-pass on the truck when I installed the remote starter. You do mean the by-pass unit where you put the key inside? If that's right it is not installed.

I would like to know if the transporder antithef system, should be power as long as the car is remote started or only in the cranking moment?

I think it should be on as long as the remote start is operating.. when the ground out when running goes low it activates the bypass...until it goes high

This may be a programmable option that can be programmed out from the dealer.

yup, most systems have it as a (-) when running. So as long as the remote starter is activated, the (-) from the unit will operate the bypass module.
