I just installed an alarm and i am trying to put the door lock relays on.The problem is when i wire it the way the manual says and the way i see on here i blow the fuse the 87a post is getting +12volts i added actuaters to the car .I have tested the relays and they are clicking and the actuaters are working but for some reason i am grounding out.If any one can help i would be awful grateful.i just noticed that 1 relay does not say 87 a on it it just has 2 87 outputs.

thanks for the fast reply but thats the way i have been wiring it and it is showing power at 87 a and is blowing the fuse.also if i wire it with out the ground the relays will click when i hit the lock/unlock button on the keyfob.

If your one relay has two # 87 terminals and no #87a terminal, that is your problem. Get another relay. One that has both a #87 and a #87a.

Yeah, the relay with the two 87's on it is the wrong type of relay.........it is just a single-throw, "on-off" relay. Perfectly fine for fog lights, but not what you need for actuators.
What you need is another SPDT relay, which stands for Single Pole, Double Throw. That's pretty much the standard type of automotive relay, so it won't be hard to find.
You can buy them for high prices at the auto parts store, or an alarm shop would surely sell you one.........although if you ever visit the junkyard for car parts, you can find standard relays in the fuseboxes of many cars, particularly late 80s/early 90s GM luxury models.

thanks guys.i will get a couple new relays today and try it again.i kinda thought that might be the problem but was not sure cause i bought bothh relays at the same time.
