if you are connecting  an after market alarm to a car that has a factory alarm do you really have to connect the disarm wire from your after market alarm to the disarm wire of the car even if you have power door locks connected too.

Some japanese cars usually arm and disarm with lock & unlock.

Most cars require that you connect the factory alarm disarm wire (or else when you unlock or r/s the factory alarm will go off)

Depends on the car.

I alway smile when question like this comes up. WHY? You have a factory alarm. Why would you still want to install one? Maybe it's just me.

Like KarTuneMan said. It will depend on the vehicle type. Some will disarm when you unlock while other will need a single pulse to the disarm wire. Let us know the year, model and make is your car we will tell you what your need to disarm it.
