What does the ingnition 2 do from the remote start?

It powers up the 2nd ignition on the vehicle. On some gm vehicles if it is not powered up it will damage the transmaission.

Its also away to slow the old school way to hot wiring down. Now you need more than the basic you got one more ignition to power up first. sometimes even a 3rd
