i have a question for the experts on this form....on the 1999 Dodge Intrepid Security Information it says 2.7K Ohm Lock /620 Ohm Unlock One Wire see notes . do they need to be exactly those size resisters or would 1.5K Ohm Lock/250 Ohm Unlock work?
also what color and how many pin is that WHITE/ dark green wire located, and does both resisters connect to the same wire?

please help this beginner installer..thx

You need to find a resistor within 5%of the value listed. a 1.5K ohm instead of a 2.7k Ohm is only 55% of the value you need and a 250 instead of a 620 is only 40%. If you need to use 2 resistors whith values that add up to the exact value you can do that but no more than 2,and the tolerance should be as small as they sell if you need to use 2. 1/4 watt should suffice.

to attain the correct resistance value you can do it a couple ways, you can wire resistors in series and the sum of all the resistors will be the end result, or you can wire them in parallel and the resistance of the two in parallel will be half that of the resistance value of one of the resistors - you can combine parallel resistors and then wire them in series with another to get the correct value.........or if there is a nearby radio shack you can get exactly what you need for a few bucks
