hey whats goin on i just put a compustar alarm and remote start in my friends max, the one made for M/t. However the car can still start in gear. And ive done some research and people have said that GREEN / WHITE on the ecu is the NSS switch but i couldnt get it to work so maybe i was wiring it wrong ? I was gonna tag it into the hoodpin. So if there is any diagram out there that would help me get the neutral safety switch working i would really apprecaite it. I bypassed the clutch by sending the -status output on the alarm > the positive wire on the clutch switch. Since the -status output is only used during a few seconds of the rremote start sequence.

Did I miss something here about not cutting the loop wire inside the unit?    I thought you have to go through a series of procedure with Compustar alarm and remote start (reservation mode) in order for it to work?

I'm bettin since you installed it, your an authorized dealer. Why don't you call Ray in tech support, at Firstech....here let me give you the number...WAIT, you have the numbers....give em a call. I know I haven't been much help, other than to suggest via a simple phone call having ALL of your question answered by the one guy that has ALL the answers....Ray.

So you have a type one clutch...it seems you have bypassed it correctly. NOW, you are monitering the door pins, and the hand brake, correct. Does the brain say MANUAL on it...or is it one of the older units that you need to "cut" the wire on? Is it a CM3300, or CM3000?

its a cm300-v3 so it does not have the wire you can cut, it is made for a manual. But still it can start in gear which kind of bugs me and there was no input for a NSS wire. So the only way of finding that wire is taking it straight from the transmission ? Or is there another wire located under the dash some where. I appreciate all your help.

i also i do go through all of the reservation mode sequence and if i leave it in gear it will start and jump forward of course i held the clutch down so it wouldnt jump but i really would feel more secure getting the NSS wire working. And no im not an authorized dealer i mainly deal with DEI alarms, however one of my friends bought the compustar because he htought you couldnt put the 791xv on a 5 spd :O he doesnt know too much heh. Thanks again for all the replies

Then you must have a unit for made for AUTOMATIC. I would definitly take a closer look at the unit and see if you got the right one for a manual tranmission. Otherwise my guess is that you got a faulty unit. That I don't see too many, but it does occur.

If you are NOT a dealer...talk to the folks that sold it to ya. If you purchased off line from a fly by night type....ooops, and sorry. You have a problem here that needs REAL attention. This is SOO unsafe....

You should NOT NEED the nuetral safety wire if the unit is wired correctly, and working as it should.

Does reservation mode "WORK" ? When you go through the motions does it act as it should? Not shut off til you close the door and lock?

You come to a stop, set the brake put the car in Neutral, turn the key OFF, it continues to run, you get out and shut and lock the dorr, the engine STOPS....RITE

ok the problem was figured out he was putting it in GEAR AFTER he set reservation mode thinking that it wouldnt start, how ever if you try to put it in reservation mode prior to leaving the car in gear it will not go into reservation mode thanks for the help!
