I am in the process of install an alarm/remote started to my 2003 Accord and the doors locking system works the following way (using the factory remote: when I press the unlock button once it unlocks the driver side, preset again within a second or two and the rest of the doors unlock. All the doors lock with one press to the lock button. Is there a way to keep it the same way with the new alarm?

You may want to post what kind of remote start/alarm you have some have this function out of the box, some don't.

What brand/model alarm are you installing? Your installation manual should tell you if the alarm has that capability or not.

Yes. And it'll be lotsa fun!

Here's how I would do it.

Lock/unlock and arm/disarm wires are in drivers door.

Cut the door unlock motor wire in the driver's door and do reversal type using a relay. Run this wire through the boot inside the car and connect the output of your remote starter which will control the driver door unlock.

While in the door, connect two wires to the WHITE/ red arm and white disarm wires coming from the door keyswitch. Run these into the car as well and connect to the remote starter arm/disarm wires.

Connect the lock/unlock wires of your remote starter to the lock/unlock wires in the driver's kick.

If you did it right, it should work. Have a beer....you deserve it.

What I would do in that case to avoid programing anything an to just save to an guessing, snatch the door lock wires from the passenger side. they open on the second pulse so just hook it up to them an they will open all doors on the first pulse of the alarm. all cars i have come across with double pulse unlock it works.

I did what caraudio reccomends and it works, and saves time. Green plug in side of fuse box listed in wire diagram here. I have this car back in the shop for other issues. Let me know if I can help you with anything. Probably send pics if needed.
