I just installed a CS-2011RS in my 02 Ram QC,  I have two problems and I question.  1st problem, remote start works fine except the check engine light is now on - how do I fix that?, 2nd problem, when I unlock with the remote, the dome lights do not come on, - which wire do I tap into?  Another question, On my factory keyless entry unit, I press the unlock once and driver's door only unlocks, press again - the rest unlock.   But with the CS's remote, I press unlock once and all doors unlock.  Is there any way to make this remote function like the factory's?  Thanks in advance,  Mike

In order to use the drivers priority unlock feature your remote starter need to have this feature.  And since I do not believe your unit has this, you will not be able to make it funtion like the factory remote.  You could set it up so that when you press the unlock button it only unlocks the drivers door, and then use an auxilary output to unlock the rest of the doors, but you cannot use the one press drivers door and two presses the rest unlock feature.

For domelight supervision you may also have to have an output on your unit for this to be an easy install, but i do not think that your unit has this as an option.  My wire database shows to use the door trigger to trigger the dome light, but if you only pulse it it will likely only flash the lights.  The door trigger wire is Tan in the drivers kick panel and it is negative.  I can unfortunately only offer limited options for this feature since i would have to test the system to find alternative methods.  There may be a wire from your factory keyless entry module that you can pulse to turn them on using your unlock wire and pulse again using your lock wire to shut it off, but i would ahve to test it to be sure.

As far as the check engine light, did you use both ignition wires or just one?  You must use Both.  Did you install a starter kill relay (or anti-grind relay)?  I have seen a few cases with Dodge vehicles  where the cruise control did not work and hence a check engine light, and I pulled the anti-grind relay out and it solved it.

keep me posted

For the domelight supervision you can tag either the tan (drivers front door) or the PURPLE / orange (drivers rear door).  They are negative trigger and can be found at the white plug under the wire junction box under the dash.  This will activate the bcm and they should stay on for about thirty seconds except if the truck is remote started then they will stay on as long as the alarm puts out the trigger.

If your check engine light is on then you probably are noticing whirling noises from your tranny also. This is due to the small RED / Wht or Red  wire not being energized as a third ignition. This wire is coming off the ignition switch and will test as a regular ignition wire.  Use a relay and energize.

Priority unlock will have to be done by five wiring the unlock motor. Please note that you will loose the feature of lifting the interior door handle and unlocking the passenger door if locked. I had to use a 4 ohm resistor on the motor wire last time as the motor unlocked HARD. Read: motor would unlock then come down 1/4 " which caused the door to lock completely when opened from the outside.

Ah Prost.....Cheers and Beers, Mel
