94 Jetta gls Keyless Entry

Hey guys, had both door locks break on the same day :( (Little hook on the activator). Anyways, I have a Rattler Diy 100 keyless entry system and want to hook it up. I have read the numerous posts on this subject and have not really seen anyone attempt an install from the back of the car (Central locking system/vacuum pump area/Control Module). It seems pretty easy and looks like all i have to do is plug the green and grey into the right places, and i should have a fully functioning keyless entry.
I have gathered that my system is Positive triggered (3 wire) and that i need a double pulse for unlocking. I have read thru the manual for my keyless system. Looking at the Power Lock System Circuit Wiring Guide for my jetta, I see that coming out of Control module there is 4 wires, should i connect the RED / wht with gray, then the green with blck/wht? Or just use the RED / wht or blck/wht as my 12V positive?

What i am trying to do is basically utilize the factory alarm, and make my keyless an identical system to inserting the key.

Sorry guys.. forgot to mention that the car has no other power options. I am also going to just use a cheap switch to sense ignition power so i can program the module. Basically, i want to keep everything in the trunk. My audio system is quite bulky already, and adding more stuff in the dash, or kick panels seems like more of a pain. Im not doing anything fancy here, just want my doors to unlock :)

I'm having a little bit of trouble understanding your question about the wire colors. But:

--There is nothing wrong with installing the keyless entry in the same area of the original VW keyless module, in the trunk.

--You are probably aware that because you'll be working in the trunk, you can't easily connect the extra features like starter kill, flashing LED in the dash, etcetera........but it sounds like you don't care about that.

--As far as those wire colors you mentioned.....they might get you started in the right direction, but proper procedure for installing this type of stuff is to ALWAYS TEST the wires in the car for proper function. Although a digital multimeter would be the safest, even an ordinary test light is beter than not testing at all.

--When you talk about both door locks breaking.....do you simply mean that you can't open them from the outside with the key? The power locks still do work, right? As long as the power locks work, your keyless should work too.

--This part is up to you, but don't forget that if the keyless fails for some reason in the future.........install error, keyless unit breaks, remote breaks, car's battery goes dead........you'll be locked out. It would be best to at least fix one of your outside door locks if you can.
