I have a 2002 cavalier
also i have a autopage 520-lcd alarm

My question it how to hook up the dome supervison. Most people say use the door trigger but i dont want, it to show that the doors open when i have the dome on. i say this beacuse i have a 2 way pager.

The wires that go to the dome light are
Orange-constant 12v
White- has 12v when not on the swithces to ground to make the light come on.

Also with the door triger input on the alarm my car has neg. So what do i do with the (+) trigger input on the alarm? beacuse it has both. do i just cap it?

Thanks for the help in advance

The GREEN/ black is located in the lower drivers kick panel. It catches the drivers door only. The light blue is located in the lower passenger kick panel, and catches the passenger door(s). Tap both wires and diode isolate each.Wires can also befound at the BCM.

You do not need the positive door trigger input to the alarm when your car has negative door triggers, except in special cases (like Astrostart Alarm starters)

As far as adding dome supervision there are a couple of things you can do.

1) use the door trigger. The dome supervision should come on when you unlock it, so your alarm will be disarmed anyway. I don't believe that cavaliers door triggers are directly responsible for the light coming on anyways. That is to say that the door trigger sends a pulse to the bcm, and the bcm turns the light on. So using a door trigger should be ok.

2) If you still don't want to use the door trigger, you can use a relay to break the ground wire at the dome light, and feed it a ground to turn it on. That would go something like this: 85=12v, 86=dome supervision output from the alarm, 87=ground, 87a=domelight ground (car side), 30=domelight ground bulb side. I would make a diagram for you, but I am at work and time will not allow me to do so. You should be able to figure this out tho.

i dont think you understand what im saying my alarm has the built in relay so it has a input wire you can eith ground or put 12v's on the the output wire puts out what ever you put on the input wire. SO WHAT WOULD I HOOK THE INPUT WIRE TO THE NEG DOOR TRIGGER THEN THE OUTPUT TO THE WHITE WIRE ON THE DOME? THANKS

Most people here aren't familiar with autopage. Now that we know it has a built-in relay for domelight supervision....

INPUT to ground, OUTPUT to drivers door trigger
