I read in my info that you should use a pulse relay timer for the wait to start feature on this truck. What is that and where do you get one? Also if any of you guys have experince with this vehicle please drop me some tips or short cuts if you have any. Thanks so much. Brian

ese a pulse timer by DEI 528t and set it for about 23 second use this link to show you how to wire very easy car I have done like three of them GOOD LUCK, TEST ALL YOUR WIRES. https://www.directechs.com/techtips/pdfs/resources/1091.pdf

Also note that some alarms have an input for the wait to start light and a pulse timer isn't necessary. The wait to start wire is BLACK/ pink (-), also this is from a 2000 f250 sd, you must place a diode in line with the wire before you tag it. It can be found at the cluster, pcm ( high on d.side firewall) or in the main harness coming into the car.

Well the unit I have has the wait to start input. The way I read the info about the 2002 f 250 I thought that you had to have this unit for the glow plugs. So you are saying that I can just isolate the wait to start wire from the alarm with a diode and hook it up like any other? If thats the case thats great! The more I can save my customers the better. Brianh. Follow the link i gave you before. In the new ford the wait to start wire is databus, which can not be connected to. You must use a pulse timer. FORD 2002 and Up super duty will require this set up. What alarm are you installing?

I will be installing the Pro Start 2300 by Commando. I thought that there was a change for the 2002 model,but I wasnt sure. Thanks Brian

get any pulse timer relay set it up so it tiggers the wait to start wire on your alarm. You said you have a wait to start wire on your alarm. Wire the relay so it triggers this wire, since you'll be using a pulse timer relay this wire will have ground when ground is gone it will engage the remote start. https://www.directechs.com/techtips/pdfs/resources/1091.pdf You will have to use a second wire from your alarm. The factory disarm wire will work fine. Becuase when you activate th RS the wire will trigger the pilse timer relay giving ground to the wait to start wire that will prevent the car from starting. Always programm the pulse timer with in 10 to 15 second of the glow plug wire turninh off. 23 to 25 seconds seems to work for me. But then again you can always ask the costumer how long it usually takes in the morning for him to start the truck. This will make him fell good that his car will start with in that period of time. TEST ALL WIRES also if you will be doing tach wire you will find it green or white at a 42 pin plug uder the clamp on the engine side of the air intake duct. GOOD LUCK.
