I am installing a Compustar fm-2way remote start on an 06 Ranger and understand that the door locks should be diode isolated, never have worked with a diode in my life so I don't know exactly were or how many to install, I picked up 6 diodes but need some type of a diagram to go off for the install, I already located the left and right - door triggers at the gem on the passenger side of the truck,

thanks for any help with this,

You might not like google and that's absolutely okay. But the Diode Basics is on the left with the EXACT diagram you were looking for. How in the world can a member in this forum misses that, unforgivable.

I did read the example for most found on gm vehicles and purchased some 1N4001 diodes as stated, also some of the google searches I came up with show a relay used with the diodes,

I'm not sure if I understand your question. If you wanted to know how many diode and where to hook them up. You just use one diode per door, disregard whether or not each door uses separate trigger (does no harm but a waste of a diode at worst), as if you were treating each door as a standalone sensor.
For example:
1) hood + 502T + 520T = 3 triggers, 3 diodes
2) left door + right door + trunk = 2 or 3 triggers, just use 3 diodes

So based on this diagram and the direction of the diodes its a (-) trigger and the two Ford yellow/blk (D) & gray/red (P) triggers are to be connected to the compustar RED / w (-) door trigger input?

also thanks for the diagram KarTuneMan,
