Has anyone else ever had the problem where the alarm doesnt recognize the remote anymore? the remote is still on and none of the pixels are damaged or anything. Its just all of a sudden the remote isnt working. When I go to lock or unlock the car, it beeps at me as if Im out of range even though Im standing right next to the car.

I took the car in to where I got it installed and they said its the remote. I am just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and how common it is.

it depends on how much abuse you have put the remote thoru. (droping it, getting it wet ect.)as long as you have not put the remote throu an physicl damage and you are still in your warranty of the remote have them replace the remote.

Ive dropped it a few times since i got it in jan of 05 but since its on my key chain I dont think it took any direct impact. I did take it apart and didnt see and solder connections that had come undone or broken pieces. Its definitely getting waranteed. Good thing I bought the 4 year extended.
